Drill Design FAQS:

What is the Cost of a Drill Design?

Since each drill is unique, the price is set by the drill designer on an individual basis; but the cost will certainly be inline with comparable professional design services. A price quote, with a formal contract, can be provided free of charge after the Drill Design Request Form is filled out online. The contract will only be in effect if it is signed by the client and sent back to BTM within seven days.

What is the Payment Schedule?

A non-refundable up-front fee and the balance paid within thirty days of chart delivery is the normal payment schedule. However, it is understood that some school districts will not release funds without a Purchase Order. Therefore, the first payment can be waived with an official PO from the school district sent to BTM by the first payment date guaranteeing full payment thirty days after chart delivery.

What level of involvement and attention will the designer give to the drill?

For easy-level charts, the designer will provide visual coordination that will reflect the musical selections. For mid-level competitive charts, some collaboration with the color guard designer and music arranger(s) will be required to provide for visual continuity of specific movement. For highly-competitive charts, in-depth research and development along with intimate communication between the director, the music arranger(s), the color guard designer, and the marching staff will be required.

How will the drill charts be delivered?

Once the charts are complete, they will be saved as downloadable PDF files and will be placed in a secure password-accessible folder on the BTM website for two weeks. Unless the Client gives the password to others, this folder will only be accessible by BTM and the Client. An animated video, either silent or sound synchronized, will also be placed in the folder if it was contracted by the client. Editable files, such as actual Pyware files, will not be posted.

Will the Designer do Rewrites?

Though rare, rewrites are sometimes required. However, since every effort is made by the designer to gather specific information before the charts are written, an additional fee will apply.

What is the turn-around time for chart completion?

A guaranteed completion date will accompany each and every contract. However it is based on a first-come first-served process; so the earlier a contract is signed, the earlier the chart is delivered.
